ICOM IC-M804 – Advanced Shortwave Communication for Maritime Use
The ICOM IC-M804 sets new standards in maritime communication and is ideally suited for use at sea, where reliability and clear communication are essential. This device is available in two versions compatible with either a 12V or 24V power supply, offering versatile deployment options on various types of ships.
Reliability in Emergencies: Equipped with a distress button protected by a spring-loaded cover, the IC-M804 meets the latest ITU-R M.493-15 and ETSI EN 300 338-4 Class E DSC regulations. In an emergency, simply pressing the distress button sends a digital distress signal with GNSS coordinates, directed to other ships and coast stations.
Intuitive Operation and Excellent Visibility: The IC-M804 features an intuitive user interface facilitated by a combination of directional keys and soft keys for easy navigation. The 4.3-inch TFT color display offers a very wide viewing angle, displaying information clearly and distinctly. A night mode ensures the display remains easily readable in the dark.

Instant Playback and Environmental Durability: A unique feature is the two-minute instant replay, which automatically records and plays back the last two minutes of received audio, ensuring no important messages are missed. The radio has undergone rigorous environmental testing and boasts IPX7 certification, making it exceptionally resistant to harsh maritime conditions.
Integrated GNSS Receiver: A major advantage of the IC-M804 is its integrated GNSS receiver, which includes GPS, GLONASS, and SBAS capabilities. This allows for precise transmission of position data, course, speed, and UTC time, easily connected via the included GNSS antenna with a 5-meter cable.
Advanced Connectivity: The device supports NMEA 2000™ and NMEA 0183/-HS, allowing for easy integration into existing onboard networks. Data such as GNSS, DSC calls, and radio information can be effortlessly shared across the network.
Required Additional Equipment: For optimal use, an antenna tuner and a connection cable are additionally required. These can be found in the accessory overview. The AT-141 automatic antenna tuner adjusts the antenna to all frequency bands. If adjustment is not possible due to a fault, the IC-M804 displays a warning message and bypasses the tuner.
