Stay Safe with the GM600 GMDSS VHF RadioThe GM600 is a GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System) VHF radiotelephone that meets the requirements of SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) and national maritime regulations. When combined with the optional GM800 MF/HF radio, the GM600 provides a complete GMDSS radio station for VHF, MF, and HF frequencies.Built to Last in Harsh Marine EnvironmentsThe GM600 is designed to withstand the rigors of the marine environment. Its rugged construction and corrosion-resistant coating on the back panel ensure long life. The front panel is IPX7 waterproof, meaning it can be submerged in 1 meter of water for 30 minutes.Automated Distress and Safety CommunicationThe built-in Class A DSC provides automated distress and safety communication. The dedicated DSC watch receiver continuously monitors the DSC calling channel (Channel 70). Up to 100 MMSI (Maritime Mobile Service Identity) numbers for DSC calls (75 individual IDs and 25 group IDs) can be stored with 10-character ID names. The DSC Task mode provides straightforward DSC operation.Large Color Display for Optimal VisibilityThe 4.3-inch TFT color display offers a wide viewing angle of almost 180 degrees and displays high-resolution characters and function icons. This allows for easy viewing of information from various angles, even when the radio is installed below deck. The night mode display ensures good readability in dark conditions.Exceptional Sound QualityThe GM600's internal speaker delivers clear and intelligible audio. With a new waterproof paper cone, the speaker provides superior sound quality with a wide frequency range and flat frequency response. Additionally, the radio delivers powerful 10W audio output when connected to an external speaker.Intuitive User InterfaceA combination of directional keypad and soft keys provides simple operation. The 12 main functions are assigned to soft keys (at the bottom of the display) and can be selected using the arrow keys. The clearly labeled keypad allows for direct input of information. The CH16 key provides quick access to Channel 16, the international emergency channel.Stable Power SupplyThe optional PS-310 DC-DC converter provides a stable 12.6V power supply to the GM600 from either a 12V or 24V power source (depending on version) and offers floating ground. The PS-310 protects the radio from momentary power interruptions. The PS-310 is required for MED (Marine Equipment Directive) certification.Additional FeaturesIEC 61162-1 interface for GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) receiverSupports new four-digit marine channels effective from January 1, 2017: 1078, 2078, 1019, 2019, 1079, 2079, 1020, and 2020Scope of delivery:Hand-held microphone HM-214VMounting bracketPower supply cableAttention: Meets the GMDSS requirements for SOLAS vessels and complies with the MED “Wheelmark” requirements when using the optional DC-DC converter PS-310 (#11 or #12)!
